The Sycamore tree is known for growing where

other trees fail. Its ability to shed its bark and reveal

new growth makes the Sycamore a symbol of

progress and life. Our logo, the Sycamore leaf,

reflects the character of this tree -

steadfast, progressive and growing in Indiana.

Protecting the Deaf

Sycamore Services is raising funds to purchase specialized weather radios for the deaf and hard of hearing. This effort is in response to the tornado that struck Evansville in November of 2005. Those who are deaf and hard of hearing are at risk during severe weather as they cannot hear the traditional weather radio alerts. It is especially dangerous when the storms strike during their sleep. The specialized radios, costing $150 each, use strobe lights and vibration to wake or attract that attention of the deaf and hard of hearing. If you are interested in making a donation to cover the cost of a radio for someone on the waiting list, please CLICK HERE and choose "make a donation". Please designate your donation in the comment section. Each donation that goes towards the purchase of one of these special radios could potentially save a life. You can't put a dollar value on that!
