Sycamore Services provides Community-Individual and Community-Group services for recipients enrolled in any of our as part of day program. Activities are designed around individual interests and available resources. Community activities may involve membership in a community based club, such as YMCA, or it may involve regular trips to the local library. The activities are based on consumer choice and the benefit to be derived from the experience. Consumers participate in educational, recreational and social activities to expand their personal experiences.
Sycamore’s Community Consultants provided 23,163 hours of support to 131 persons enrolled in Community-based activities between January and December, 2014.
Consumers are encouraged to participate in activities that promote good health, fellowship and education. Community outings present opportunities for consumers to meet others, develop new friendships and, potentially, build a fuller life without paid support.
